Purpose and Function of the St. Philip Neri Golden Angels

The SPN Golden Angels organization promotes Spiritual, Educational, and Social growth of the individual members. It undertakes or assists with projects for the good of the Parish and the community. It provides members opportunity to enjoy social, cultural, spiritual and educational activities as a group for the purpose of building up the parish community. 

Any parishioner 50 or over is welcome.

MAY SOCIAL: The May Golden Angels Social will be held on Friday, May 10th  at 5:30 in the St. Augustine room.  TENTATIVELY the SPN Youth Group will be providing our meal.  But, the group is involved in a tournament right now, and if they keep winning, they will be obligated to play instead of feeding us!  So, watch your email next week and if the youths can’t put on our meal, we will change our plans to Pot Luck.  The entertainment after will be bingo!

COOKIE SUNDAY: Cookie Sunday will start up again since Lent is finally over.  Cookie  Sunday is the 3rd Sunday of the month, so this month it will be May 19th.  If you can help or donate cookies, please contact Vinola Smith  802 9799. Thanks

PAST EVENTS: On Thursday, April 25th, 20 Golden Angels and friends painted a wagon wheel with Spring flowers, drank a little wine, and ate some snacks!  Thank you to Sue and Mike Kraus for showing us how.  Next wine and Paint Party will be in July.  Stay tuned for more details in the future. 

UPCOMING SPECIAL EVENTS:  A field trip is planned for Thursday, May 30th to fabulous Perkins Oklahoma.  We will leave on the SPN bus at 10 am and travel to the Oklahoma Territorial Plaza where we will tour Pistol Pete’s restored home, a 1901 cabin, a one room schoolhouse, an antique agricultural exhibit, a turn of the century barn, 12 foot statues of Pistol Pete Eaton and Indian Chief Nacheninga, an old time railroad depot and museum, antique train cars, an early church, plus the Centennial Trails Arboretum.

Afterwards, we will lunch at Café 33 and then stop by the Perkins Through the Years mural before we head for home.  The cost for this trip will be your lunch and a voluntary small donation for the bus.  Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex. 

SPN UPCOMING EVENTS:  The very first St. Philip Neri Italian Festival will be held in the north parking lot and the Family Life Center on Sunday, May 26th from 12:30 to 4:30 pm.  This is a fundraiser for our parish.  Advance tickets are on sale after the Masses for $5. The festival will feature entertainment by Dean Martin and Frank Sinatra impersonators, stomping of the grapes by Fr. Fuller and others, complimentary wine tasting, playground and games for the kids, other fun activities, and lots and lots of fabulous Italian food!!  Please plan to come support our parish and bring your family and friends.  This event is open to the public!

BOARD MEETING: The next board meeting is scheduled for Monday May 20th at 1:30 in the Lamb Room.  All are welcome.
