Golden Angels

Purpose and Function of the St. Philip Neri Golden Angels

The SPN Golden Angels organization promotes Spiritual, Educational, and Social growth of the individual members. It undertakes or assists with projects for the good of the Parish and the community. It provides members opportunity to enjoy social, cultural, spiritual and educational activities as a group for the purpose of building up the parish community.

Any parishioner 50 or over is welcome.

The “Golden Angels” is an organization by the seniors and for the seniors of the parish who are 50 years of age or older, or whose spouse is 50 years of age or older. The group has a monthly social with a meal at the church, takes trips to points of interest, has seminars on topics of interest and has Christ as the center of the program.

Other things we do:

- Provide cookies to parishioners after Sunday Masses

- Provide an e-mail newsletter each month

- Promote the exercise classes of the Parish Nurse

Our Next Meeting: The September social will be held on Friday, September 14th at 5:30 pm in Felician Hall. This will be a chili supper, members please bring sides. If anyone would like to bring a pot of chili, please let Bobbie Dean 732 5134 or Margie Madden 769 3872 know.

Social Entertainment: After supper, Mary Dresel will present a talk and slide show from her trip to the Holy Land. Please sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.

The Great Cookie Explosion in the Narthex: Many thanks to all you Golden Angels who made dozens of cookies for fellowship after Sunday's masses.  Our next scheduled Cookie Time is Sunday Sept 16th.

We are having a difficult time getting enough cookies for this ministry.  Perhaps it is the summer doldrums,  perhaps it is time to re-think this project.  At any rate, if you would like to help continue our cookie Sundays, please call Vinola and let her know. 802 9799 Thanks.

Our Next Paint party is coming up:  We are planning another wine and painting party on Tuesday, October 16th at 6 pm. Sue and Mike Kraus will show us how to paint a Sunflower. Cost is $20 per person and includes all painting supplies and snacks and drinks. Fun and easy!

Looking Ahead: Mark your calendars: Just FYI, our December, January and February socials will be held at noon in the St. Augustine room.

Our next board meeting is scheduled for Monday Sept 17th at 1 pm in the Lamb Room.  We are looking for several new board members for the upcoming year. If you haven’t served yet, please prayerfully consider volunteering and bringing your God given gifts to our group.
