Golden Angels Newsletter

Hello Golden Angels!

Happy September!

SOCIAL: We’re celebrating the coming of Fall with our September Social on Friday, September 13th at 5:30 pm in the St. Augustine room. The theme is Mexican, so please bring your favorite Mexican or Mexican’ish dish or dessert! After dinner, Mary Mayhew and some of her talented students will entertain us!

CORPORAL WORKS OF MERCY: Do you know anyone who lives alone and doesn’t get out much? Why not invite them to join you and all of us at the next social?

PAINT PARTY: On Tuesday, September 24th, we will be having another Wine and Paint Party, in the McAuley room at 6 pm.

We will be painting a fall scene. Cost is $20 and includes all paint supplies, snacks, soft beverages, and wine. Sign up sheet is in the Narthex.

UPCOMING FIELD TRIP: On Thursday, October 3rd we are going on a field trip to the Grey Snow Wild Eagle Sanctuary in Perkins for a guided tour. Admission is free, donations accepted.

After the tour, we will head to Cafe 33 for a nice “comfort food” lunch. The last time we were there, the food was good and the prices reasonable.

After lunch, we will go to beautiful downtown Perkins to check out the Territorial Plaza, featuring an old school house, church, railroad depot, gas station, barn, and museum. We should be back to SPN by about 4 pm.

The Bus will leave SPN parking lot at 10am. Sign up sheet is in the Narthex. Please sign up ASAP if you would like to join us.

BOARD MEETING: The next Golden Angels Board Meeting will be Monday, September 16th at 1:30 pm in the Lamb room.

O God, you entrusted to us the fruits of all creation so that we might care for the earth and be nourished with its bounty.
You sent us your Son to share our very flesh and blood and to teach us your Law of Love. Through His death and resurrection, we have been formed into one human family.
Jesus showed great concern for those who had no food – even transforming five loaves and two fish into a banquet that served five thousand and many more.
We come before you, O God, conscious of our faults and failures, but full of hope, to share food with all members in this global family.
Through your wisdom, inspire leaders of government and of business, as well as all the world’s citizens, to find just, and charitable solutions to end hunger by assuring that all people enjoy the right to food.
Thus we pray, O God, that when we present ourselves for Divine Judgment, we can proclaim ourselves as “One Human Family” with “Food for All”.

Have a safe, happy, and blessed September everyone!
