Activities include those that meet the spiritual, developmental and social needs for the youth of the parish in grades 9-12.

Two of our youth group participants pose for a picture on their Six Flags summer trip.

JULY SOCIAL; Friday, July 14 at 5:30 p.m. The Board will furnish the hamburger, hotdogs and bread. Members bring sides. The Church doors will be open from 4:15 until 5:25 p.m. Please be on time.
If you haven't yet signed your name that you are coming please do so. We need to know how much
meat to buy. Entertainment: Roger Thibeault will give a short presentation on the United States flag. After this we will play BINGO.

On Saturday, August 19th at 6:30 p. m. the Midwest City Elks Lodge at 8635 SE 15th Street, is hosting a
WHODUNIT Dinner Theatre titled "Happy Daze Homicide". This show takes us to the 10 year reunion of the Happy Daze High School graduating class of 1955! Remember DeeDee, the cheerleader and Norwood and Wendy, the valedictorian and salutatorian, and of course, Bubba, the football star ... almost. Don't miss this hilarious High School reunion murder mystery- the love triangles started 10 years ago and they haven't stopped yet! We just hope everyone survives the night! Cost for the evening is $32 per person which includes the show, buffet dinner, dessert, soft drinks, and sales tax. Liquor drinks are available. We will have reserved seating so we can all sit together. If you would like to attend, please see Margie Madden at either the July 14th or the August 11th social. Please pay Margie in advance for your tickets, so she can take care of paying the Elks and reserving our seats. Payment can be by cash or check.

Memorial of St. Benedict, Abbot  O gracious and holy Father, give us wisdom to perceive you, diligence to seek you, patience to wait for you, eyes to behold you, a heart to meditate upon you, and a life to proclaim you; through the power of the spirit of Jesus Christ our Lord.- ----St. Benedict

TEA PARTY; This was a very successful day. The Altar Society and the Golden Angels brought happiness to
52 ladies who attended. The Altar Society bought and prepared the delicious sandwiches and fruit. Many
expressed their thanks and said how enjoyable the day was and looked forward to next year. Acting on that, the Board members set the date for next year, April 22, 2018. Mark your calendars and plan to attend.
Thanks to everyone who brought cookies or other dessert for Father Fuller's 10th anniversary party.

The bus trip to the Pastoral Center was made by 9 members. Mr. George Rigozzi gave us a guided tour of the Father Stanley Rother exhibit. Mr. Rigozzi talked on Father Rother's life and the Church. He explained the meaning ofthe different symbols and art in the Chapel. We were especially pleased and honored that we attended Mass officiated by Archbishop Coakley and most of us spoke with Archbishop Beltram. Afterwards we had a very delicious lunch at the Cafe Do Brazil restaurant. Many thanks to Margie Madden for this day.

AUGUST SOCIAL; Friday, August 11th - too hot to cook we will have pizza.

SEPTEMBER SOCIAL; Friday, Sept. 8th - will be Potluck.

SEPTEMBER OUTING; Thursday, Sept. 14th we will go on a SEPTEMBER OUTING to Yonderland.
This is a new 80 acre ranch owned by two Sisters who felt called by God to make it a religious retreat.
They have a Grotto (or large statue of our Blessed Mother) and the Stations of the Cross outside. They
have a small meeting house but are in the process of building a much larger building and a chapel.
These buildings are supposed to be ready before our September visit. We hope many will plan to
attend. It will be a fun-filled spiritual day with plenty of food. So again mark your calendar.

COOKIES; It was decided that we would move our cookie day to the 3rd Sunday of the month. Our
ladies who do the serving also have other duties such as ushering and greeting people on the 4th Sunday
and it makes it difficult to do a good job. Our next cookie Sunday is July 16.

EXERCISE We still meet on Tuesday and Thursday at 10:30 a.m. If the Activity room is not available
there will be a note on the door advising you to go to the new gym. One can enter through the church
office or the school office. There is someone in the school office that will open the door when you ring the bell. This is open for men and women. We are often asked do you have any men that attend.
Yes, we presently have two men .... there's plenty of room for more.

Till next time have a wonderful summer. Leonora
